The Weekly Photo Challenge invites us to post a photo of something that can be described as “Ornate.” The word ornate conjures up the synonym, “elaborate,” marked by intricate and often excessive detail; complicated; Ornate.

In the Palomar Hotel in downtown San Diego, as I walked around the lobby, filled with surf and coastal culture art, I found this wall sculpture that was too amazing not to photograph.

Of course, I had to take the picture of the ornately-styled green surfboard on display.

At an art gallery in Lake Tahoe, I saw this wonderfully ornate surfboard. I so wanted to buy this!

The Palomar Hotel hosted the Above Time Premier of fashion bow-ties using the platform of Bowties Against Bullies. Check it out if you haven’t read this post.

Love that Sand Dollar art sculpture. I remember when you attended Bowties for Bullies. A great cause. And was at Bondi Beach today ….surfs up here in Sydney. Would love to take one of the beautiful boards featured here out to catch a wave here…but I don’t really surf, so maybe I should just stick to photographing surfers.

Isnt that a cool sculpture? It’s massive, i only shot it up close. Sounds good enough, Lisa. Yes, take some photos of surfing!
