“The potential of things to come” is the theme of the weekly photo challenge depicting the  Future.

Steps to Education lead to the future.

Walking from my classroom on campus a few months ago, I was intrigued by the way the stairs looked on this overcast day. These stairs lead from the east edge of the university campus to the bike trail and on to the bridge that crosses the river.

Many students walk this path, and this young man happened by as I was photographing the steps.

“Education is not only a ladder of opportunity, but it is also an investment in our future.” – Ed Markey (Senator for Massachusetts)

Every semester, I have the pleasure of seeing the eager faces of young adults nearing the completion of their university education.

The future is theirs.

So incredibly true. I’ve had a struggle lately at my own employment as Training Manager to really push the importance of continuous education. Training, seminars, back to school, whatever, we should always be open to learning more. It helps individuals and the companies they represent succeed greater.

Very well said! It’s because of my role in employee training that I went for my MS and began teaching part-time. Your job sounds both challenging and fulfilling!

Oh Terri, this is so near and dear to my heart. In my encore gig, I’m working for the College Access Challenge Grant, helping young people on their paths to postsecondary education. Often the road to college is daunting, especially for low income and first generation students. It is always so heartwarming when they realize the possibilities and understand that the future truly is theirs! Congratulations on a wonderful photo and post!

This is such a perfect image for what you are writing about. Or you are writing perfectly for the image. So many steps…not all of them clear.
