Weekly Photo Challenges: The Calm…After The Rain

 

Lenticular clouds curve over the delta after a summer storm.As a blogger and amateur photographer, I love it when the planets align and I can submit one photo for two photo challenges.

This week, Hugh Roberts of Hugh’s Views and News, challenges bloggers to depict “after” in a photograph.

If that wasn’t hard enough, trying to find an appropriate photo for WordPress’ Weekly Photo Challenge theme Curve was much more difficult than I had imagined. So much for a quick post!

I was pleased to find this photo from last year showing the curving levee road near our windsurf camp in the Sacramento Delta. Since this is a windy location, the lenticular clouds form after stormy weather, further shaped by the wind into these curvy, disk-like shapes.

      Thank you so much, PJ!! I’ve fixed the problem. My last theme, when adding the featured image, made it the main image for the post. My previous theme (Big Brother–yours), only showed the image when I placed it on the blog. This new one didn’t include it it all. I’m grateful for you telling me. Hard to blog about a photo challenge without a photo 😉

    I hope you are getting some rain in your part of the world because I know how dry it has been. We’ve plenty here in the UK. Summer? What Summer? She’s missing yet again.

      Nope, no rain, just hot! We did get so much needed rain all through spring that now they are spraying for mosquitos and West Nile Virus. The whole US is hot but I would love to send a few buckets of sunshine your way!

        I’ll happily swap you a few buckets of water for a few buckets of sunshine. Current temp 68F and some parts of the UK have enjoyed an inch of rain with thunder and lightening thrown in. Still, Wimbledon starts next week, so I’d better get ready to sing on Court Number One. 🎤
